Think of the people dearest to your heart. What if you could truly capture who they are now? Many of us yearn to stop time as we watch our children and loved ones change and grow. We are blessed to live in a time when we can preserve the day with images, but for so long, the realm of family photography has been limited to staid and posed family portraits.

Now there is an alternative. To come away with photos that are beautiful and real – that will evoke these days for years to come - I believe you need a few key ingredients.

Time. First, I take the time that is necessary — most shoots are up to three hours — to get amazing and natural images. Sessions are relaxed and fun so that I can capture who you really are and so that you can actually enjoy the process. Everyone wants beautiful images of their loved ones, but few of us enjoy actually having pictures taken. Allow me to give you a different experience of being photographed! For many, this session itself becomes a wonderful time together and a fond family memory.

Expertise. As a photojournalist, it is my job to tell your story. As an artist, it is my job to bring out the most beautiful aspects of you and your loved ones. I’ve found the greatest family photos are born when a photographer can blend the two.

Flexibility. Your passions and taste drive the sessions. Your newborn’s first weeks. The hands and feet of everyone in your family. A visual chronicle of your immediate and extended family. Whether it’s a more formal collection of portraits of your family or an informal time documenting your children playing on the beach, you choose how we use the time! Your session can be at your home, at a location of your choosing, or a combination of the two. However you want to document this extraordinary moment in time, you will come away with a rich portfolio of beautiful images.

With my own daughter, my camera has given me great comfort, allowing me to preserve these days of wonder and growth and thus be more fully present as we celebrate each stage of her childhood. I’d like to give you that same comfort.
